So I decided that I should start brand-new with this blog (again). But this time, it’s going to be all about crafting. I feel that’s more of my favorite thing to do and it’ll be so much easier to talk about.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be updating things around here and eventually will post some new stuff. I did a lot of different crafts and I have some I’m doing now that I can’t quite post yet but it’ll be here.

Surprisingly, it took me hours and hours as well as a full rewrite to figure out how to go about this first post. So why am I getting all worried? Crafters should not be getting worried. We should go for the gusto and if we screw up, then we just go back and fix our mistakes, making it better in the process. TDS got me back into crafting, honestly, and filling a void for part of the week is something I hope will get me back into writing and crafting. I thrive to bring out more of my inner geek.

But the biggest challenge really is to figure out what to do put on here. I have a wide range of things I do and would love to really write about something that is really me. Do I write about video games, crafts, sci-fi? Do I rant on things in the world of entertainment that frustrate me to no end? Their thoughts and their words seem to flow from their fingertips. Mine cause brain cramps. So, I guess deep down I can really only talk about the one thing that makes all other things obsolete – Doctor Who.

I love crafting the Who-niverse. Once I fell in love with Tom Baker’s attitude and curly locks, I knew exactly what kind of crafting ideas would be the best suited for me (other than puppetry, which is for another time and place). The whole wibbly-wobbly issue in my topic search was solved by my best cosplay to date.

The look just works for me (or so I’ve been told). And being able to grow the ‘fro is a plus. The ladies love it. That’s how I got my girl. But in all seriousness, I think my ‘fro has magic, ability-enhancing powers. Every time I grow it, I’m infused with creativity.

Just look at it, being all wavy and magical.

Ok. Simmer down. Damn, where did that ego come from? Anywho, moving on. Because of my ‘fro me being the Doctor, I did what any good boyfriend would do for his girl: craft a freaking huge Christmas present. Luckily, she’s a huge Who-vian and really loved it.

This is massive. Three-and-a-half feet tall massive. Like, I was afraid she wouldn’t be able to fit it in her car. Nothin’ says lovin’ like having your very own space ship.

I also made a plushie for another Christmas present. A friend of mine is considered the Tin Dog of the group. So what better way to drill that in even more by making him a plushie of the Tin Dog himself, K-9.

Speaking of K-9, my fro, magic powers and me being wishing I was a Time Lord, I made the one thing I never thought I could. Never in my life did I ever think that I could pull this off. I’m so glad my girlfriend doesn’t think I’m too much of a dork. She did help, after all.

This brought me new love of pink Styrofoam. I never thought that something so amazing could be made out of foam from the local hardware store. I mean, it’s like the real thing! My own lil’ doggy. He even moves! Like, “Beep-boop, I move.”

This is actually not that bad (wolf). Who would have thought I would have been able to do this…and not get frustrated?
